Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions govern the terms of your stay at Hazeldene yarra valley (Hazeldene). You are encouraged to read these terms and conditions completely and carefully. By making a reservation with Hazeldene and by completing your stay at Hazeldene you will be deemed to have agreed to these terms and conditions. A person is required to be 25 years or over when booking Hazeldene yarra valley and will be held responsible for these terms and conditions.

Accommodation Rates

Included within the nightly accommodation rates are

  • Bed linen
  • Bath towels
  • Pool towels
  • Use of swimming pool (heated from September to May), heated spa and sauna
  • Use of tennis court (equipment not provided)
  • Local telephone calls (non-local, ie long distance, international and mobile calls, will be calculated on your departure and charged to the nominated credit card)

  • All rates are quoted in Australian dollars.
  • We reserve the right to vary the rates at any time.
  • All rates are inclusive of the Goods & Services Tax (GST), currently 10%, as mandated by Australian law.
  • Hazeldene reserves the right to review all rates quoted in the event of an increase to the rate of GST or the introduction of any other applicable tax, fee or levy.

When you arrive

  • Our on site caretaker will arrange to meet you at check in with keys for Hazeldene. Please return these to the caretaker upon your departure. Hazeldene reserves the right to charge for replacement keys if you fail to return keys on your departure.
  • Hazeldene operates a no smoking policy, we kindly ask you to refrain from smoking within the house, balconies and around the pool area. Evidence of smoking found in the house or the grounds will result in additional charges.
  • Diving in the swimming pool or spa is not allowed. Children must be supervised at all times by an adult when around the pool or spa areas. You must be 18 years or over to use the sauna.
  • No alcohol and strictly no glass is to be taken into the pool area. Evidence that glass has been taken into these areas will result in additional charges.
  • Furniture must not be moved without prior permission from Hazeldene.
  • Non-resident guests shall vacate the premises at the agreed time, eg: lunch functions non-resident guests should depart by 6pm and for evening functions by midnight.
  • Up to 3 site visits, of up to half an hour each, can be arranged prior to the date of your stay. Site visits must be by prior arrangement with Hazeldene and must be accompanied by a Hazeldene representative.
  • Please take extreme care around the lake. Children must be supervised at all times by an adult when around the lake. Guests are not permitted in, or on, the lake and activities such as swimming or boating are strictly prohibited. Fishing in the lake is allowed, but fishing and all other activities near the lake are conducted at your own risk.
  • No pets or other animals are permitted in the buildings or the grounds of Hazeldene without written permission. Assistance dogs are exempt from this requirement.

Accommodation Terms

  • Hazeldene can provide overnight accommodation for a maximum of 16 people in 8 double/twin bedrooms. Under no circumstances will extra guests be accommodated in the house. Accommodation in the vicinity of Hazeldene can be suggested for additional guests at the time of booking.
  • A minimum of two nights' accommodation is applicable at weekends, a minimum of 3 nights' accommodation is applicable during public holiday weekends and Christmas, and a minimum of four nights' accommodation is applicable at Easter.
  • Check-in time is after 3.00pm.
  • Check-out time is before 11.00am. Hazeldene reserves the right to charge for an additional night's accommodation where check-out is after 11.00am.
  • Hazeldene will be cleaned before check-in and weekly thereafter if your stay is for 6 nights or longer. Should you require more frequent housekeeping service, this can be arranged for an additional charge.

Payment & Cancellation Terms

  • Payments can be made by Bank Transfer, Bank Cheque, Visa or Mastercard.
  • A minimum deposit of 50% of the accommodation rate is required to confirm the reservation.
  • The balance of full payment for accommodation/function is required by no later than 30 days prior to the date of your stay.
  • Cancellations must be made in writing, by post, fax or email. Any cancellations will not be effective until received by Hazeldene, irrespective of when the cancellation is actually sent.
  • Refunds for cancellations made more than two months prior to your reservation date will be subject to a 10% booking and administration fee (10% of total accommodation/function/third party purchases rate).
  • Cancellations made less than 2 months prior to your reservation date will be subject to payment in full of the balance of your accommodation reservation fee (this may be reduced if we are successful in re-booikng the dates reserved).
  • Hazeldene highly recommends you take out comprehensive travel insurance, as you are liable for any costs for cancellation of your reservation.

Conditions of your stay at Hazeldene

  • You agree to leave Hazeldene in the condition in which you found it and to inform the caretaker of any breakages to or loss of equipment, or damage to the property or surroundings you or your guests cause to Hazeldene.
  • You agree to Hazeldene taking details of your credit card prior to your arrival as security for any additional accommodation charges or any repairs, replacements or extraordinary cleaning which is found necessary as a result of your stay at Hazeldene. Where a credit card is not available a bond of $500 will be required either as cash or bank deposit.
  • You agree to Hazeldene debiting your credit card or retaining part or all of the bond for the costs of any additional accommodation charges or any repairs, replacements or extraordinary cleaning which found necessary as a result of your stay at Hazeldene. If requested we will provide an invoice of any such charges.
  • Hazeldene reserves the right to ask you or any of your guests to leave Hazeldene for eg: noisy, offensive or unruly behaviour; improper or unseemly conduct; damage to or loss of property; or if a crime has been committed or where there is suspicion of a crime being committed.

Damage to or loss of property

  • Hazeldene will not be liable for damage to or loss of your property including vehicles or their contents (unless the loss or damage was caused by some default, neglect or wilful act by Hazeldene).
  • Hazeldene's liability for property with Hazeldene for safekeeping that is damaged or lost while it is being so held, is limited to $2,000 (unless the loss or damage was caused by some default, neglect or willful act by Hazeldene).
  • If the damage to or loss of your property is found to be due to Hazeldene's default, neglect or wilful act liability is limited to $100.
  • Guests must not enter areas of Hazeldene which are indicated as being closed to the public. Hazeldene will not be responsible for death, personal injury or loss or damage to property suffered as a result of entering such areas.

Amendment or replacement of these terms and conditions

Hazeldene reserves the right to amend or replace these terms and conditions without notice.
